Privacy and security, in plain words
A pain diary is health data, the most protected kind there is. This page says what protects yours, exactly as it is built. The legal version is the privacy policy, linked at the bottom.
-
Your diary stays in Europe
Algia runs with a hosting partner in Belgium. Transactional email leaves from an Amazon region inside the European Union. Payments for Plus happen on the pages of Stripe, which never sees your diary.
-
Your words are encrypted
Diary text, notes on a region and medication details are encrypted with a key that is separate from everything else and is kept outside the database.
-
Your scores are kept readable, on purpose
Scores, regions and the answers to the four questions are not encrypted. Encrypted numbers cannot be charted or summarised, and the charts and the summary are the reason the diary exists. The database itself is protected by the hosting partner.
-
Nobody else runs inside the application
No analytics, no advertising and no script of another company runs once you are signed in. The public site has a consent banner for its own measurement; the application has none because there is nothing to consent to.
-
No health data in email
A reminder names nothing. A notification links into the application. No email from us ever contains a score, a region or a word of your diary.
-
Two steps to sign in
Every account uses a password and an authenticator app. Sessions are listed on your security screen and can be ended from there.
What we do not claim
We do not call anything unbreakable. Algia is run by a small company with one operator, and it says so. Security issues can be reported at the address on the contact page and are answered by a person.
Your data is yours
Export everything at any time, free, on every plan. Delete your account yourself; the deletion is final after thirty days. Withdraw your consent and the diary closes, while the export and the deletion stay open to you.
